Unreal Past Nedir?
İngilizce'de bazı yapılarda geçmiş zaman, geçmişi değil şimdiki hayali/gerçek dışı durumu ifade eder. Bu yapılara "unreal past" denir.
1. It''s time / It''s high time
It''s time + Subject + Past Simple
It''s time you went to bed. (Yatma vaktin geldi - henüz yatmadın)
It''s high time we left. (Çoktan gitme vaktimiz geldi)
It''s about time she found a job. (Artık iş bulma zamanı)
Not: It''s time to go = Gitme zamanı (genel). It''s time you went = Artık gitmelisin (eleştiri/sabırsızlık).
2. Would rather
Kendi tercih: would rather + V1
I would rather stay home. (Evde kalmayı tercih ederim)
I would rather not go. (Gitmemeyi tercih ederim)
Başkası için tercih: would rather + S + Past Simple
I''d rather you didn''t smoke here. (Burada sigara içmemeni tercih ederim)
She''d rather he came tomorrow. (Yarın gelmesini tercih eder)
3. As if / As though
Şimdiki gerçek dışı durum: as if/though + Past Simple
He talks as if he knew everything. (Her şeyi biliyormuş gibi konuşuyor - bilmiyor)
She acts as though she were the boss. (Patron gibi davranıyor - değil)
Geçmiş gerçek dışı durum: as if/though + Past Perfect
He looked as if he had seen a ghost. (Hayalet görmüş gibi baktı)
